22 Jun 2009Multi function printers seem to have taken the limelight in recent years and the choice of inkjet printers that can print good quality photos without costing the earth has been a bit limited. The Epson Stylus Photo R360 offer great photo printing facilities with it high resolution print, built in memory card reader and LCD screen makes printing photos quick and easy. The R360 can print on a vast array of media including all the usual types of standard paper, envelopes and card as well photo paper and inkjet transparencies. One unusual feature is its ability to print directly onto the surface of CD and DVD disc which is useful for those who want to produce professional looking CD or DVD presentations, without having to mess around with sticky labels. The quality of print from the Stylus R360 exceeds what you would expect from a printer in this price range but one thing that lets it down is the speed in which it prints. Epson claim the R360 is capable of printing thirty pages per minute but this is a greatly exaggerated claim because the real world printing speed is more like five pages per minute, and even slower for photo prints. Printer ink for the Stylus R360 comes in the form of six individual ink cartridges which common these days as it is more economically than the old block colour cartridges and means you only have to change the colour that is empty. While this is economical, Epson ink is still not cheap, with a set of Epson Stylus R360 ink cartridges costing around £45 when bought as a multi-pack.
